I am offering a pair of wove papermaking moulds M41in the Hand Papermaking Auction 2018 - https://www.ebay.com/usr/handpapermaking. These were made in 1955 by Edwin Amies & Son in Maidstone, England. They measure 635 x 850 mm (25’’ x 33 ½’’) overall - 570 x 790mm inside the deckle (22 ½’’ x 31’’) – known as Imperial being the normal British size for watercolour paper. The deckle is for making about 140lb per ream (say 200 – 350 g/m2). They are watermarked ‘‘1978” and “Handmade’’ which could easily be removed. Although their condition is categorised as 5, having recently examined them, I would now say they are generally condition 6 apart from there being some superficial damage to some ribs. This is normal for well used moulds and would not cause a problem and could be corrected with a bit of sanding.
